We didn't want an outdoor cat but he is an escape artist and would run out between our legs so now we let him play in the backyard.  Interestingly, he only wants to play when we're out there.  He comes back in with us and hasn't run out the front door since.  This picture would make a much better video as he was hunting invisible monsters and pouncing all over the overgrown grass.
