Week 4

Doesn't this look like Leia's ship?  Everything is Star Wars in his world right now.
We went for foster babe's birthday :)
We also went to Build-a-Bear where everyone made a new friend!
They waited for months and we finally watched Return of the Jedi!
And Foster Babe really got into the spirit of the day...
We finished the week taking Daddy to California Adventure

And hanging out with friends there, too!

Week Three

Adam saved up for this Ninjago set and built it in one day.
Making use of Foster baby's visit time doing school work at Chick-fil-A
Look who's trying to politely join us for dinner!
Jason, Beth and I had the priviledge of participating in a news taping at the Discovery Science Center's Indiana Jones' exhibit.
We had to be there at 5 am but hey, we actually ended up with multiple shots on the air!
It was a fun experience watching the filming and getting to participate...even if we were super tired the rest of the day.
As a family we attended an all day continuing ed class for foster care.  During our lunch break we walked over to the airport and watched planes take off...simple pleasures
Took some time to paint some Christmas ceramics.
I did not pack up all of the Christmas crafts that just never seem to get done every December.  Instead, I'm leaving them out and we're going to work on them all year.  We're going to enjoy doing the crafts and some may actually be worthy of saving for Christmas ;)
It's H week for this preschooler and she's got labels all over the house...hey, that's another H word (yes, there is a post-it on our outside wall telling every passerby that this is indeed a house!)

Week Two

Dehydrated Apple Smiles

Monthly Lego Build
super cute igloos with 2 penguins!
Our guard cat spent a day keeping a close eye on what was going on outside...
Because outside we had plumbers digging a 6 foot hole in our front yard!  They fixed the broken pipe and had the dirt back in the hole before the end of the work day.
Job well done!

Beth secretly collected the wrapping paper tubes during Christmas wrapping season.  Then one night she brought them out and said, let's play hockey!  Complete chaos ensued but it was so fun to see her secretly create this game and then watch it unfold.
Jason is studying inventors and inventions in science.
This was his attempt at an egg drop carrier.
We ended this week celebrating Jason's 10th birthday.
And it wasn't just any celebration...we bought passes to Disneyland!
Because of Disneyland, he had to open his presents the next night
...the wait was worth it :)
...and if you're curious, that look of pure surprise and joy is for a tin of putty.
Yep, green glow-in-the-dark putty brings that smile to Jason :)

Week One

We attended the Circus to celebrate Owen's 1st birthday.
Aren't they the cutest lion and muscle man ever?
The day was filled with thrilling stunts and exciting games!
We started back to school this week after the holidays,
but sometimes we need to take breaks so I sent Jason outside for fresh air and exercise...
Jason attended cotillion for a special Mardi Gras night of dance and fun food!

January 4, 2013

I've gone three days not taking any pictures...not one.
It is so freeing to not feel the pressure of getting "the" picture everyday!  So I really thought I was done...but then she walked into the kitchen dressed like this:
How could I not capture this moment?
So I'm back...sort of...I'm thinking more of a week by week in pictures and then I can get back to the regular blog for more detailed events and stories.  We'll see how it goes...

Happy New Year!

We closed the year celebrating with our good friends Dave & Stefanie.
2012 was lots of fun, and now we're looking forward to what
2013 has in store for our family and friends!
Happy New Year to all!!!
As for our day by day pics...I'm taking a break.
I'll be back...with something...someday...
